Synopsis:
The workshop consists of a collaborative development of a multimedia archive dedicated to the political Mexican Spring. During the workshop we learn how to build an archive that can be modified in real time with the video software Kinho (Khino.cc). This is an opensource software created by the workshop instructors. Kinho enables the collaborative development of audiovisual narratives.
How does the media influence the construction of collective memory?
How can we design a set of methodologies that help build memory?
What are the elements, processes and mechanisms of expression that may constitute an audiovisual live act?

Duration:
3 sessions, 4 hours each sessions.

Programme:
Day 1:
Analysis of the concept of memory in the audiovisual practice.
Analysis of audiovisual tests
Khino software introduction
Basic concepts for using Khino
Day 2:
Construction techniques of an open archive
Systematization of an archive by using tags and categories
Khino and twitter as tools to build an open script

Day 3:
Test of audiovisual materials
Render the materials
Publication of results

OBJECTIVES:
The workshop focuses on the construction of memory from audiovisual processes. Participants discuss expanded narrative models, building collective dashes through social networks, as well as the aesthetics of cinema in real time. In addition, the workshop participant learn different approaches to the creation of an interface for live performance.
As a result of the workshop, participants build a live audiovisual essay that consists of three elements: image, audio and text taken from Twitter. This becomes a document that analyzes experimental formats to represent a shared memory, and a historical account on the recent political and social events of our country.

REQUIREMENTS :
Prior knowledge of video and audio editing with computer software. An interest in sharing, discussing, and analyze socio-political aspects and historical events of our country.
