[Texte disponible uniquement en anglais] Gianluca Cillo is a new media artist specializing in projection art. He possesses a multidisciplinary
background rooted primarily in theatre, music, cinema, and computer graphics.
In 2008, he earned a diploma as a Multimedia Systems Technician from the Quasar Institute in
Rome, and in 2016, he graduated with a degree in Theories and Practices of Cultural Anthropology
from La Sapienza University of Rome.
In 2009, he began his journey in the world of projection art as a VJ, creating live visuals for
internationally renowned DJs. In 2011, he co-founded a collective to produce his first projection
mapping work at the Kernel Festival in Desio. Since then, he has dedicated himself to creating
immersive digital content, collaborating with international brands, event agencies, cultural
institutions, and artists.
His artistic research is based on an anthropological and mystical vision of the visual sign,
understood as a symbol and a force that interacts with the psychic and cultural archetypes of both
the individual and the collective. His works are the result of a multimedia technical approach
encompassing filmmaking, generative art, and 2D/3D animation.
