[Texte disponible uniquement en anglais] Gregory Moncada, aka Bad Pedestrian, is a Sicilian-American visual artist and experiential creator based in New York City. Trained in fine arts, his practice moves across mixed-media collage, projection mapping, interactive installations and immersive environments, combining physical materials with digital systems.
Central to his work is an ongoing process of collecting, assembling and transforming fragments. Images, found materials and ephemera are extracted from their original contexts and recombined into new visual structures, establishing a continuity between his traditional collage practice and his work with computational and projected media.
This approach is also at the core of Surreal Projectionism, his ongoing series in which light and moving imagery are mapped into ornate frames, transforming them into continuously evolving living paintings. Projection becomes a means of extending collage beyond the physical object, allowing images to accumulate, overlap, disappear and reorganise themselves over time.
Across both physical and digital media, Moncada treats fragments as material for constructing new relationships between memory, place and perception. Rather than separating traditional and technological processes, his practice brings them together within the same methodology: collecting and reworking existing visual material to create environments that remain fluid, layered and continuously in transformation.
