From deep space, a spacecraft approaches a planet: Earth. On board are three men who have been expelled from a colony and forced to return to where they came from—Earth. The planet appears as a ball of soot, a barrier of space debris that blocks their view of it. They cannot land; the barrier is too dense to penetrate.
Amid the remains of the satellites, they try to figure out what happened. They find hard drives; in one of the satellites, a library of images, videos, and music—the history of Earth and humanity: lava, life, technology, war, dance...
