[Texte disponible uniquement en anglais] Evolution is a multimedia performance in which music—primarily based on sampling and unconventional rhythmic structures—engages in a dialogue with surreal visual imagery. The result is a multi-layered texture in which the contrapuntal interplay between sound and image immerses the audience in an evocative, imaginative landscape.
The two performers improvise over the live-set tracks, creating ever-changing audio-visual interactions. The musical material ranges from downtempo and electro to electroacoustic and idm, while the visual component explores the concept of evolution from multiple perspectives.
The performance also features more sparse and contemplative passages which, in previous editions, have provided space for instrumental interventions and electroacoustic improvisations, making each presentation a unique experience.
