Overview
Audio and visuals are two very different sensory experiences – but when paired together, each can amplify the appreciation of the other, and become one unified experience. This talk dives into different ways of looking at sound, and exploring how sound can be enhanced through well-designed visuals. Ginger will talk about ways of analyzing sound, from physical sound vibrations to audio analysis and the frequency spectrum, to emotion or mood-based and synaesthetic interpretations. She’ll examine different software used to create audio-reactive visualizations, and different creative pipelines for designing live audiovisual performances and sound installations.

Objective
Explore creative ways of visualizing sound – from coding to physics-based methods – for performance, data-visualization, and installations.
