[Texte disponible uniquement en anglais] I am Nicola Raccanelli, a composer, performer, and sound artist.
After studying at the G.B. Martini and C. Pollini Conservatory, my work has focused on the interaction between electroacoustic music and visual elements in various expressive contexts.
As a performer, my work ranges from popular music—including club appearances—to theater and concert halls, featuring radical improvisations and performances of electroacoustic compositions.
I have served as a composer and performer for the Darix Togni Circus, Teatro dei Venti, and Théâtre des Funambules.
For LPM, I would like to submit my work *Alethia*:
Alethia is a Visual Music performance born from my fascination with the laser as a medium of expression in relation to electroacoustic music.
Alethia is a work heavily based on the interaction between electroacoustic sound and light; the audio signal is thus transformed into an image through a laser projector controlled by acoustic signals.
In the performance, sound does not merely accompany the image but directly governs its structural parameters, such as shape, color, intensity, and dynamics.
Alethia has been presented in various settings, from the concert hall of the C. Pollini Conservatory in Padua to underground venues such as free parties. The most recent performance took place in April at the WDF festival organized by Kernel Panik; I have attached an excerpt from that performance.
